Better information. Better conversations.
Straightforward guides to preparing a commercial enquiry and understanding the steps involved in a potential transaction.

Preparing a buying requirement
Start with the product and its specification, then state the quantity and unit. Include the required origin if relevant, destination, delivery schedule, proposed Incoterms and payment structure. Add your company details and distinguish firm requirements from preferences.
- Use precise product specifications.
- State the quantity with a clear unit.
- Separate required terms from preferences.
- Identify who is authorised to act for your company.
Presenting a supply offer
A useful offer explains the product, available quantity, origin, loading location, delivery options and documentation available. Describe your role accurately: producer, commodity owner, supplier or authorised representative. Product claims and authority should be supported by appropriate evidence.
Understanding transaction milestones
An introduction, an indicative price and a signed agreement are different milestones. Review the conditions attached to each stage. Specifications, inspection, logistics, payment and performance obligations should be clearly documented by the relevant parties before execution.
Keeping initial enquiries focused
Share enough to establish the commercial fit. Detailed identity documentation, sensitive banking information and confidential contracts should be handled later through an appropriate agreed channel. Never include login credentials in an enquiry.
